On Sunday, May 1, 25 finalists from 12 high schools in San Antonio and the surrounding area competed in the 2016 Joci Awards. These finalists sang, acted and danced, vying for a chance to win a portion of $100,000 in scholarship funds. All finalists received scholarship funds and two students received $1,500 scholarships based on the essays they submitted with their competition applications. Two students were also selected to participate in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA) in New York City. This year’s finalists and winners include:
