Recognized by several local, state and national programs for her work in philanthropy and service, Charline served on the board of The Majestic Empire Foundation for many years. In 1998, the Empire was renamed the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre in recognition of the major gift that Charline and Red McCombs gave to Las Casas for the theatre’s restoration to be completed.

Charline will be dearly missed, but her legacy lives on through her commitment and contributions to Las Casas, San Antonio and beyond.
